: At the beginning, the Deceiver and Shiver have a little
: exchange. A transcript is as follows.
: Shiver: Ahhh, if it isn't Alric's lapdog... will you bow
: to anyone who claims the Throne of the Cath Bruig?
: Deceiver: The path to revenge makes for strange
: bedfellows, would you not agree, Ravanna?
: (Shiver growls and attacks the Deceiver)
Dan, I believe the Deceiver says: "The path to retribution does make for strange bedfellows" not "The path to revenge makes for strange bedfellows."
I needed to point this error out because retribution and revenge have slightly different connotations.
Retribution implies punishment that is just and fair; something that needs to be done in order to set things right.
Revenge, however, implies a personal vendetta against someone.
When he says "the path to retribution" he is stating that, by punishing Shiver and/or Soulblighter (I'll let the oher Asylumers figure that out) he is himself going to be redeemed for earlier sin.
I thought I'd point this out seeing as how it might affect some theories.
