Actually, I've tried to do that, and nothing happens. Also, if he kills the dwarf holding the head, the satchels your dwarf is carrying blow the head up and cause it to go some distance, but Soulblighter doesn't chase it down. My guess: Bungie just didn't feel like programming that part in. It also kind of reveals that Soulblighter is lying when he says he'll spare your life. The ONLY thing he wants is to kill you to prevent you from throwing it in.
