Well, they're both people you'd really like to kill but just can't, for plot reasons. They both lead you on long journies when you already knew how things were going to come out.

It says that Rurik is likely to become the next mayor of Tallow, or wherever. Maybe in an age yet to be he'll become a major avatara, learn some useful skills (like how to run away in the right direction) and become the next "Anshar Reborn." Hey, in this mythology it could happen! :)

P.S.: the quote above is taken totally out of context. SD didn't mean it. Really.
