: First, David mentions a "fiery vortex" spell,
: which I assume is detailed in GURPS. What powers are
: attributed to Connacht and Damas by GURPS? (I'm
: curious because it has to do with the solo scenario
: contest).
No, it doesn't delve into this any further. I'll leave this for others.
: Second, in one of the Myth pre-game texts, it says very
: specifically that Connacht vanquished Moagim. Are you
: sure you haven't made a mistake, or is it just an
: inconsistency?
Yes, as Forrest has said, Moagim was the Leveller during the 1000 years period previous to Connacht's rise, the Wind Age. It's written in GURPS that the Leveller of the Wolf Age is not Moagim but scholars at times refer to him as "Moagim-reborn" though he has no official name. Similarly, the Hero who vanquished the "real" Moagim in the Wind Age has no officially recorded name.
The Wind Age is different than the Wolf Age. The Wolf Age is more commonly called the Age of Light and it followed the Wind Age.
: Third, is it also spelled out by GURPS that the Leveler
: was alive when the Trow were imprisoned? If so, does
: that mean that the Trow were serving the Leveler?
Yes, it says that the Leveller thought that Connacht was weakened by his battles with the Myrkridia and Trow(which were not serving the Leveller) so he figured it was an opportune time to invade the West.
"Striking quickly, he (Connacht) turned his attention to the weakened Trow -- still at low ebb from the casualties and self-loathing that the Oghre rebellion caused.
History suggests that this age's Leveller chose this moment to invade the west, confidant that such a mighty foe as the Myrkridia and Trow would weaken even the greatest of heroes."
After Connacht defeated the Trow, he then went after the Leveller.
: Fourth, you say Connacht's "rise" was during
: the Wind Age...wouldn't the destruction of the Dark be
: just that, and Muirthemne's golden age be the Wolf
: Age?
No, Connacht rose during the Age of Light. Again, there is much confusion with Moagim, the Wind Age and Connacht. Before GURPS, I was under the impression that Connacht rose during the Wind Age and defeated Moagim. Moagim was the Leveller during the Wind Age, yes, but Connacht was not around yet. It wasn't until the Age of Light or the Wolf Age, a full 1000 years later, that the name Connacht was even whispered. Connacht had *nothing* to do with the Wind Age and Moagim, well a little something.
Moagim *did* build up and organize the Myrkridia during the Wind Age and when he died the Myrkridia lived on. Connacht imprisoned the Myrkirida in the Tain. That is his connection to Moagim.
: Fifth, does GURPS specifically say that all the Trow were
: imprisoned beneath Rhi'Anon, and not somewhere else?
: Do we know how?
Not much is said. Again, I'll leave this for others.
