I used to do something that in my English class back in high school. Lean hard on my hands and dig my thumbs into my carotids, wait till I'm almost unconscious and my head's about to hit the desk, then shoot up my hand and say the first thing I can think of (which would usually be pretty interesting, as a product of anoxia-stimulated thought processes) when called on. As a means of disturbing the teacher, it was second only to raising my hand after I'd used a mechanical pencil to cover my arm with faux track marks. Ah, the jolly pastimes of the nerdish. :)
