: All of the arguments stated above make sense, assuming of
: course that the map that is given to us of Myth is the
: entire world. However, GURPS tells us that there is
: strong belief in areas to the North-East, South-East,
: and due West. Although these lands appear to be only
: legends, they may still exist. Thus, all of the
: runestones may be scattered across the entire world,
: which may be quite larger than we see. So, there may
: be only a few runestones centered around the area of
: the Myth world, as the other 37 would exist elsewhere
: around the world, too far for most archmages to
: research and come back and name for the rest of the
: magus society to learn about.

However, GURPS also says that many believe the lands beyond the known world don't really exist, because the known world is the whole of Wyrd's creation, and he couldn't see the rest of it when he made the world. Thus, the One Dream from which Wyrd made the known world would be broken up into 49 Dreams in 49 segments of the known world, and nothing beyond.

I think it may be something like the old Europeans' "world" terminology. Each continent was a "world" unto itself, hence the "new world" across the Atlantic ocean (America). So what Mythworlders know as "the world" may very well be the sum of Wyrd's creation, and the Faraway to the west is a land of idyllic peace and concord under some other god, and the lands to the northeast are ruled by some dark and evil god (or maybe THE Dark Gods), and the lands to the Southeast are ruled by someone or other, perhaps being a normal Earthlike place with no perfect peace or inherant evil or stupid cycles, just an untamed land with things living on it.

I wonder what keeps people from building magical ships that can sail off to Faraway. I mean, GURPS tells us people "grow" cities, building them with rock and mortar like usual but then casting a spell to turn them into a solid extension of the ground. Why not build a watertight, impenetrable (for all nonmagical intents) ship's hull the same way? Is there no usable mana flowing outside the vision of Wyrd, so the ships would just crumble? Or what?
