So
: if anyone has any notable Fear&Loathing tricks they've
: discovered--new kind of invisibility, or
: teleportation, or a neat artifact trick, or such--but
: haven't found occasion to use in a scenario or level,
: let me know and I'll include them w. credit.
: Thanks,

It's kind of dodgy, but I accidentally found a way to make player units in a single player game act insane: if you make two monster identifier links under the same new action, one an obje and one a subj (they have to be linked to the same unit, of course) the unit won't obey your commands. I think the engine is too busy constantly testing it for map actions. The unit will run around the map, randomly attacking enemies or running away from them, occasionally walking up to your other guys and staring at them, ever once in a while just standing in one place and refusing to move at all. When you click on them and tell them to do something, they start to, then pause a second as if they're trying to fight their madness, then they just go back to doing their own thing. I'm not sure how you would turn it on and off without a munger (no thanks!) but it looks pretty cool. I would, however, recommend keeping their base movement rate very low. I had a fast unit do this and I couldn't keep up with him! I had his buddies running around in circles just trying to keep him from getting into too much trouble (it was a jman, too... hmm, synchronicity?).
