Well, it took a while but i found that a general rule for converting Myth Dollars to Real Dollars (US) is about 1 USD = 3.6 MD. Or, it would be much easier if you lived in the UK, it would be about 1 MD = 1 pound (i think). This is based off the fact that the heron guard robes (about 100 lbs) were worth $1.88 in gold. The current price of gold is about $325 (USD) per ounce. However, the robe was probably not fully gold, so a better factor would probably be about 3, so a Necromancer making $700 a month would probably only get about $2100 a month in modern US.
Personally, i'd pay a Journeyman or Necromancer much more than that to work for me, the ability to raise your opponents from the dead and heal yourself would be a major advantage in battle...
