: Can someone brief me as to what I've missed?
Things we learned from GURPS...
Before time, there were the Dark Gods, those guys that the Ghols worship. At the dawn of time, the god Wyrd awoke from the One Dream. He got in a big fight with Nyx (who is female, BTW), another god, and the world was created in the process. The world we see on the Myth map is all Wyrd's creation, what he saw in the One Dream, with the exception of Tharsis, which is a scar Nyx made on the world. The Trow were probably made there. Ther Dark Gods thought Wyrd had betrayed them, so they had his son Segoth beheaded, and the head preserved to it would never die and could always speak - sound familiar? Somewhere in there the Leveller created himself.
"Acit El" means "Golden Age", and is the name of the calender everybody uses ("A.E."). Before that they used the "H.C.", suspected of standing for "Heron Calendar".
Everything before around three thousand years ago is called the Axe Age by humans and the Golden Age by Trow. Three thousand years ago, Tireces defeated the Leveller with this new stuff called "magic", then had him beheaded and burnt at the stake. That started the Age of Reason, or the Second Era, which was a Light Age. A thousand years later, Tireces returned under the mantle of the Leveller, calling himself Moagim. An unnamed hero quickly killed him and had him drawn and quartered, though the hero supposedly suffered some horrible fate himself. Nevertheless, the Myrkridia reigned for a thousand years in what is called the Wind Age, or the Third Era, which was a Dark Age.
A thousand years later, Connacht arose in the far eastern edge of Gower and began to exterminate the Myrkridia. Another Leveller who some call "Moagim reborn" appeared at the same time in the far west, taking advantage of the Myrkridia and Trow-Oghre wars keeping Connacht busy. But Connacht exterminated the Myrkridia, then imprisoned the Trow (who had just exterminated the Oghres), flew west and personally killed the Leveller, then had his body destroyed by fire, mixed with salt, and buried under the mountains of Kor. This ushered in the "Age of Light", or Wolf Age (as Connacht was called "The Wolf"), the Fourth Era, which was a Light Age.
Connacht then set out to break the cycle. He had his lieutenant Damas seek out all the powerfull magical artifacts in the world, destroy those he could, and hide the rest.
A thousand years later, Connacht reappeared as Balor, the Leveller, to usher in the Sword Age, or Fifth Era. This is supposed to be a Dark Age. But as we know, the Great War ensued, and Balor has been killed. A new era of peace has ensued, with the exception of Soulblighter nearly destroying the world. The Head, Segoth, is supposedly responsible for this disruption of the cycle.
We've also learned (almost all) the name of (almost all) the Fallen Lords, and lots of other info about them.
The Watcher (Bahl'al), Mad Goat of the Fens
[Yes, it is confirmed that he is Bahl'al].
Soulblighter (Damas/Anshar), Twice Born/Patron of the Hanged
[Anshar is supposed to be Damas reincarnated, and the true identity of Soulblighter].
The Deceiver (Myrdred), Source of the 500 Poisons
[Nothing new here, except HE'S NOT DEAD! He keeps finding some little loopholes in the system and getting sent back to life. That's how he survived being plunged into the Dramus, too].
Shiver/The Voiceless One (Culwyeh/Ravanna), Loveless Child of the Unwed Dawn
[Culwyeh is Shiver's true name. She had been reincarnated MANY times, making her one of the oldest Fallen. Another Fallen, The Voiceless One - whose true name is Ravanna - is now thought to be the same as Shiver, because Myrdred called Shiver "Ravanna" before he killed her. As a side note, her Whisper Dreams is also called the Nightmare Dream, because it forces the victim into a dream state. Rabican dreamt about Moagim when Shiver invoked it on him].
The Lurker/Bonesplitter (Bheil), Twice-Born Child of Flood and Famine
[Well, we know something about one of the two missing Fallen now. Apparently she's got some control over nature, as seemingly naturally-occurring event always happen to occur in ways that benefit her].
The Faceless Man is still an unknown character.
New "Myth III: The Motley Ensemble of Assorted Members of the Undead Community" rumors have surfaced reflecting the new revelationf about the Myth II characters. We've now got five known AMUC...
The Casual Observer (Baes'bahl), Wacky Sheep of the Bors
Nailbiter (Dumass), Patron of the Danged
The Receiver (Bearded or mb Beerdread), Source of the 500 Socks Without A Single Pair That Actually Matches
Tingle/The Nameless Voiceless Faceless Sexless One (Culhio/Yomomma), Well-Loved Child of a Typical Two-Parent Family Who Somehow Went Bad Anyway
The Dorker/Pizzaslicer (Sheila), Twice-Removed Cousin of Bob or Alice
and one unknown, The Brainless Man.
And Wallace has almost finished his RPG system, apparently. And that's about it.
