First off, there are a thousand years of Dark then a thousand years of light.
Second, the current year in Myth is 2542 A.E. Which means the calender didn't exactly start at the begining of the cycle. GURPS mainly refers to dates about cycles as "1211 to 2211 years ago" style. At least when talking about cycles before A.E.
