Indeed this note seems a bit discouraging. But remember that Moagim was killed at the beginning of the Dark age and the Myrkridia ruled in his absence until Connacht appeared one thousand years later to wipe them from the face of the world.
So perhaps the Myth world is still in a Dark age and even greater evil has yet to come. The current year is 2542 A.E. (page 18 of GURPS) so the cycle is approximately only 100 years delayed. Perhaps just as Mogaim organized the Myrkridia, it took them time to reorganize their efforts. So an even greater evil was unleashed upon the world by the actions of Balor/Soulblighter and has yet to be unveiled upon the Myth denizens.
Another important note is that Tharsis, the place Soublighter attempted to destroy was the only symbol of Nyx in the Myth world. The known Myth world is all that is considered the creation of the Wyrd (see Religion sidebar for more info, page 8). There is apparently much more to the cycle than meets the eye, and it is not a very precise science (see Inexact Science, page 18).
I would love to further discuss this and more, but unless others get GURPS Myth soon, I'm afraid our information will seem a bit useless to most. So if you would love a great resource book with lots and lots of hidden information as well as character/race secrets, such as the name of one of the two secret Fallen Lords, please get GURPS Myth now! It is definitely worth it to any Myth fanatic.
