Did you get this out of the book, or did you assume? I don't have the book yet, (It will probably arrive tomorrow.) but I was always under the whole cycle was 1000 years, with 500 years going to dark, and 500 to light. The Myth II epilogue certainly makes it sound like a great hero arrises every thousand years and goes on to defeat the dark.
