: Gee, funny no-one mentions it... "Hey by the way, we
: killed the Deceiver!"
Why should they? It wasn't really a part of the first story.
: It's just as ridiculous to say that a volcano erupting
: 300 miles away causes a river to melt... This must be
: one extremely abnormal volcano any way you look at it.
Rivers flow toward the sea. That makes an awful lot more sense than Tharsis *errupting continuously for almost an entire bloody year*.
: The thing is, the two mysterious Fallen Lords are NEVER
: mentioned ANYWHERE in the entire game, and ALL we know
: about them comes from the manual and innaccurate
: pre-release info. I could just as well claim that
: Madrigal was sacked by b'y'Laggo or a Dirigible squad.
: It seems pretty ridiculous to ME to claim they sacked
: Madrigal.
We hear no details whatsoever about the sacking of Madrigal either. The *only* thing we hear is in fact that it has been sacked. Bungie obviously didn't consider it a very important part of the plot. Just like the the last of the two Fallen Lords.
And besides, if these Fallen Lords didn't sack Madrigal, then what they Hell did they do? Handle accounting for the Trow? Do cooking for the Ghôls? Run thrall gyms? It seems almost dead certain that there was more than one Fallen Lord that had to be dealt with (killed) after Balor's death as well.
"Their leadership broken, most of the Fallen Lords were soon hunted down and destroyed by Alric’s armies."
Myth II manual prologue
Soulblighter fled to the Untamed Lands, so he sure wasn't hunted. In fact, no one seemed to have known that he even survived the big blast at The Great Devoid.
Even if The Deceiver was hunted down and killed after Balor died, it leaves at least one more Fallen Lord to account for. So don't come here and tell me these two Fallen Lords were merely wimps. That's kinda like saying Rabican, Cu Roi, Murgen and Maeldun were.
