: Considering that "less than six" were chosen to
: the Heron Guard every seven years, they can't be too
: numerous. Dunno if they're only one hundred, though.
Given that they predated Connacht, I think a minimum of seven hundred were chosen, though who knows how many survived. But yeah, there must be a *lot* more, given how many you meet in-game (and the fact that, if you play like me, most of them die on each level and must be replaced.) Maybe the hundred are only the ones that got to the palace first; on their way into exile they met the returning latecomers and said, "Muirthemne's destroyed, we're all dishonored, here's a couple of tiles, now off you go." Or maybe the flavor texts just omit the sentence "A little while later, a few hundred more Guards arrived and did the exact same thing." :)
: That's what Alric called it in "Redemption".
: No?
Llancarfan may be the palace proper and nearby grounds, whereas Muirthemne is the entire city. I used to know what "Llan" means; do we have any Welsh folks in the Asylum? Does it mean "lake?" Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Aztec empire, was on an island in the middle of a lake; perhaps there was a lake surrounding Muirthemne, or within Muirthemne and surrounding the palace, before the Dark came and turned the place into a dust bowl.

Who aside from Bungie would think of combining the Celts and the Aztecs?
