: arguement/explaination in your first post here)
I was always of the opinion that Connacht had died long ago and been 'ressurected' by the leveller. No matter how great of a hero you are you don't live to be 500 years old... Now wether the great devoid would have killed alric 'hard enough' that he couldnt be ressurected is hard to tell.
I thought the (original pre myth 2 editing) premise was that the leveller spirit was still inhabiting the head of Balor (Remember it was originally going to talk to you, don't listen to anything it says) and that was why it was so important to throw it in the devoid... That since Balor was not 'supposed' to die the leveller hadn't vacated the body of Balor and you could actually destroy the spirit of the leveller.
Of course this only makes sense if its a thousand year cycle of dark and then a thousand of light. Alric destroying balor on the 500th year of a dark cycle instead of the 1000th would have broken the cycle.
The way myth 2 does it, it doesnt seem all too impressive though since myth two sort of states that alric was 'supposed' to win.
