: I remember Thrall being a viking slave, or something like
: that.

Thrall comes from (or is at least directly related to) the Scandinavian word "träl". It's most likely Germanic in origin, but might as well originated in Scandinavia. It is never used to mean slave these days, but is rather proper when speaking of older times. The times around the 10th century especially, since the Vikings dealt a lot in slave trading.

: Wow. Myth has a lot of viking references. Of course it
: has lots of references to every type of myth and old
: culture.

Besides the berserks, most of the references come from Icelandic mythology and history. This was, of course, more or less the same as the other Scandinavian, since Icelanders are nothing more than Norweigan settlers, but the old prose writings of Icelanders, the eddas, are the few really good sources to Norse mythology.
