OK, that could explain how he could "disappear" and still conquer the West but you have to admit it's a rather feeble stretch. The Myth II manual all but implied that he was never seen again after Seven Gates.
I'll have to admit, the rest of it was pretty plausible and made a fair amount of sense. Still, you have to admit that the Myth II manual (at least the quote that I mentioned about The Deceiver) was hardly implying that his disappearance was brief after Seven Gates.
