: The first two Myth titles have shown us that the Trow
: respect people who can defeat them in battle despite
: being tiny, puny, fleshy creatures who can be easily
: stomped on. Myrdred's being instrumental in the Oghre
: rebellion, one of the most serious military threats
: the Trow have ever faced, would almost certainly be
: enough to win the respect of Nyx's chosen.

Who cares if the Trow respect someone? Trow were defeated throughout battles in TFL and they didn't stop attacking in the later levels. The Oghre were enslaved for insulting the Trow and their devotion to Nyx. Are you saying that after a bunch of Trow were killed in the beginning of the Oghre rebellion, the Trow would have said "well, we respect them now. Guess we'll let them go and not resist if we're attacked"? NO!!! Those arrogant Trow would have done exactly what they did in Myth III. Respecting an enemy does not mean you stop fighting them; you simply stop underestimating them and fight that much harder. The only time the Trow ever did something for humans was when they were beaten in a GAME of their devising. Even though it was a deadly game, Trow and humans tend to meet in the battlefield under different conditions. They respect Myrdred because of his power and the fact that their comrades served under him in the first war, which they fought because they were indebted to Balor for releasing them from their iron "prisons" (Connacht melted their cities of iron on them). Balor told some of his Trow minions to fight under Myrdred's command, so the Trow respect their savior's orders and consequentially respect their new commander.

: If you go by the strictest interpreation of the ages, the
: ages change when the comet comes. Connaught was born
: under the sign of the comet. Therefore the game takes
: place in the Wolf Age, although it is likely that
: later historians would only have hailed it as such
: /after/ Connaught was victorious. Even if this were
: not the case, the title is reasonable, considering
: that the hero is Connaught, the Wolf.

Watch the beginning cinematic. Connacht was the hero of the Wind Age. At the end of the Wind Age Connacht defeated the Leveler and eradicated the Myrkridia. His deeds ended the Wind Age, in which he was a hero, and ushered in a new age of light called the Wolf Age, aptly named after Connacht the Wolf.

: You're assuming a) that it's the same Mazzarin and b)
: that the Mazzarin we see in Myth3 is a regular shade.
: Mazzarin was arguably the most powerful archmage ever
: to grace the world of Myth, and it seems reasonable
: that he might have been able to fix himself a
: life-after-death in some capacity.

: You're assuming that Damas found the Tain before he
: became Soulblighter. As for the ancient evil stuff,
: baer in mind that he's only referred to as an ancient
: evil in the pre-release info. Which is stuff that
: /didn't/ make it into the final game.

: Martel.
