: That's how I intended it to be read. Not that the Bruig
: CAN'T fight, but that they DON'T because it's more
: prudent to run than to fight a battle of attrition
: against the Myrkridia. After all, Old Heron Guy saves
: the Narrator from some Krids, a small victory, but
: then tells him "don't be stupid, kid. run!"
: Connacht just shows them all how it could be prudent
: to stand and fight.
Ah. I must have read it wrong in this respect. Thanks for clarifying.
If normal Myth is "Desperate heroism against seemingly impossible odds", this seems more like "Call of Cthulhu with Trow"
Okay, maybe not that grim. But that kind of "The Dark is overwhelming", instead of merely "Big army of Thrall to hack apart".
So even with Connacht, unless I'm mistaken, its still a bad idea to try and fight the Myrkridia toe to claw.
Connacht's "Devil Slayers" company (Myth 3 thing) should be one of the things to go. Make it so that his men can stand, fight, and survive...but not "no losses".
He's not Superman.
With the Tain, the Myrkridia are in Really Big Trouble.
None of this "This is 'a' Tain!" nonsense, I hope, will be found here. But I'm getting ahead of the story.
