: I'm not too keen on Myrks being chemically or physically
: dependent on fear, but I *love* the idea of them being
: sadistic freaks as well as just natural hunters.
It just seems to me that Myrks arent exactly animal life: why do myrk giants disappear into a shadow when they die? & Unless they sit around stuffing skulls full of gunpowder (unlikely considering the dwarven monopoly on this technology), the skull-throwing must be something supernatural. Meaning that perhaps they are not bound to the conciousness/instict dichotomy. As for their being carnivorous or not, it seems unlikely that myth's ecology could sustain such a large influx of predators without their population leveling off. Other questions these points raise is who exactly makes myrk loinclothes & are there myrk females? I would say all evidence definately points to their either needing human females to produce, being asexual, or being purely supernatural creations.
Oh and I disagree with even applying the word "mage" to myth.
