Now that's a grim and bleak thought. But it fits, and he is undoubtedly something of a Berserk (thusly, I shouldn't find it surprising), despite choosing much different weaponry.
: Serenity is much more fresh in my mind than Equilibrium,
: that whole sequence there with River vs the reavers
: was probably more inspiration that I recognized. And
: the crazy reavers are much more like Myrkridia anyway.
Very good movie, that. Placing Connacht in something like that part of Serenity instead River, with the Reavers being Myrkridia is a nearly perfect way of showing how utterly fearless and lethal Connacht is.
Incidentally, is there any thing to go by for Connacht having (then, latter, or at any point before returing as Balor) any sort of magical ability himself whatsoever?
I'm not saying he should, but I'm curious if canon indicates anything.
