Ah yes, that was another image I had in my head, though I kind of discarded it: the slow-motion punch River delivers to a reaver at the start of that scene. Nobody would punch a Myrkridia, though it would make a pretty awesome demonstration of Connacht's might if at some point he winds up disarmed and just crushes a Krid skull with his fist. Make the man as fierce and psycho as the Krids themselves. Would fit his "Wolf" epithet well.
Serenity is much more fresh in my mind than Equilibrium, that whole sequence there with River vs the reavers was probably more inspiration that I recognized. And the crazy reavers are much more like Myrkridia anyway.
