: Just for story flow and not as much 'running here, going
: back' I'd like the first beginning part to NOT be in
: gower, there are other areas that are infested with
: myrkridia and undead so we can spread around the world
: a little bit more... The narrator can still be FROm
: gower and we can reference that it is a blackened
: wasteland, but I'd rather run from something somewhere
: else. I see going into gower to find connacht being
: similar to the light going into the barrier during
: TFL.
That'd work too. Maybe have the narrator come from where someone TRIED to do what Connacht did, and actually failed; his people tried to stand against the Myrkridia and were destroyed, and he's amongst the last survivors of a vanquished civilization. Hmm... are there any civilizations like that mentioned anywhere in canon? People that just got utterly wiped out?
This makes coming to find Connacht all the more impressive from the narrator's POV. The Bruig head out to investigate these rumors in Gower, and the narrator expects to find refugees at best, but instead... Connacht in glorious battle.
: I still want that 'the dwarves dark rituals tampering
: with other planes of existance gave the dark the
: knowledge to summon the myrkridia in the first place'
: thats a nice atrocity and it has a nice 'ties in the
: fetch' thing.
: Moagim could know about these other planes because
: perhaps in an earlier life he may have been connected
: to the smiths of muirthemne who could have been a
: major Light side force in the time of the last
: Leveller. Helps give Moagim a bit more history similar
: to Balor
Yeah, that works particularly well actually. Moagim is Tireces, who founded the city of Muirthemne. The Smiths of Muirthemne... built Muirthmne. It would make sense that Moagim/Tireces would be well acquainted with the Smiths and their magic. Who knows... maybe they even helped summon the Myrkridia into the world to begin with, and then realizes as all collaborators of the Dark do, just how big a mistake that was.
: Don't specify that The Watcher and Mjarin brought Balor
: back to life. I dont want there being some sort of
: 'concious bringing back to life' thing. The only
: bringing back to life spell causes undead. Adding a
: 'ressurection' spell sort of makes the dark world of
: myth seem a bit less dark. Even if its just used by
: the badguys. Leave it a bit vague, perhaps imply that
: maybe the watcher and mjarin did it, or maybe its just
: the Cycle's response of him being killed early. So far
: as we know the only thing to return life to the dead
: is the power of the Cycle.
I wasn't suggesting that Mjarin and Bahl'al of their own powers brought Moagim back to life, but rather acted as the necessary conduits for the Leveller to be restored into a mortal body.
: I could see this being written in the form of a Novel of
: some sort, as opposed into journal entries. Gathered
: from the delusions of the asylum forum and one big
: hurrah for the legends and lore site. I think it would
: be pretty well received. It's a shame we most likely
: would be unable to EVER print it.
It would indeed rock.
