: Agreed, but for more detail, read Principia Mythica again. :There's a connection between all of this, and the Great :Devoid that the Calleach created, and the Old Gods that the :Ghols worship, and the Fetch and the Myrkridia (summoned from :a dark dimension)... the more we can work in of this, the :better, but of course not ALL of it would be known by our :narrator.
Hmm... What if Connacht discovers that this ancient cult of muirthemne, the Smiths of Muirthemne was in fact responsible for the first contact with the Myrkridia, and in fact created the artifact that allowed Moagim to originally summon them. Eventually Connacht discoters this 'atrocity' and they flee to the dark dimension leaving the Tain
He later uses his knowlege of the Dark Dimension to grab some of the fetch when he comes back as Balor
For the reccord I agreed with you about Mjarin being a fallen lord.
The ancient Evil/ New Evil turned from the light seems to not really work...
Time to get CONTRIEVED!
Ancients are
Shiver- The Voiceless One
Bah'al the Watcher
Soulblighter, Twiceborn
Turned are
Deceiver
The two unamed Fallen Lords
Now normally looking at JUST TFL and SB, I would list the turned as Soulblighter and The Deceiver, and the Ancients as Shiver The Watcher
Now of course according to pre release, that is not the case... SO lets look at this.
Bah'al, definatly qualifies as an ancient evil. One of Moagims original fallen lords.
Both Shiver and Soulblighter are semi reborn.
What if Ravanah (Xena Warrior) Was a good, but beautiful leader of the Myrimidons (as implied in myth 3)
And Culweh was an ancient evil spirit, silent and deadly...
She could choose to posses Ravanah because A) Soulblighter wanted his woman back B) They could have been sisters or C) *My Favorite* The spirit of Culweh is VAIN, she wanted the most beautiful woman to be her new body.
When Culweh is raised as a Fallen Lord she inhabits Ravanah's body and the two together become TFL Shiver, thus the silent yet still beautiful and vain Shiver from the Comic.
Later when she is reincarnated by Transmist's Mirror we get the form of Culweh and the now 'turned from the light' attitude of Ravannah. Note: She speaks and is no longer 'voiceless' Also looks different. Not beautiful. Seems to know Damas from the Old days
Soulblighter
According to the Delusions Names page he ALSO has two names
... and he's twiceborn. Damas/Anshar...
Perhaps He was originally born good, and turned evil when in seeking the dark arts was corrupted and reborn as Soulblighter. Of course which name is his 'original' name is hard to tell. He could have been born either Damas or Anshar.
However despite my musings I am inclined to ignore the pre release stuff about the names because it seems to contradict the things we know about the game. We KNOW that Soulblighter, The Deceiver and probably Shiver were all once heros and 'Turned from the Light' not Ancient Evils and the Culweh thing is sort of a weird GURPS thing anyhow.
My guess is that The Watcher counts as an ancient evil because he was around before any of the other fallen lords and possibly existed before documented history.
Also an interesting Watcher theory!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grigori
The Grigori are a caste of fallen angels in christian mythology that were known as "The Watchers"
"They are often described as looking like human beings, but much larger. They are said to never sleep and are supposedly forever silent."
The Watcher is a HUGE guy, and he never speaks in Myth 1 when we see him (and myth 3 isn't cannon) and one of the Fallen Lords was originally known as "The Voicless One" so this could connect him to that Surname instead of Shiver (though the comic seems to contradict this, showing shiver as voicless, but myth 2 shows her with a voice)
Also, they 'never sleep' what else never sleeps? The undead that he loves so much. How else did you think he kept up with those tireless undead armies? Ride around on a carpet like one of the Taken? Pshhaw.
And the weakest link, one of the common names was Batraal. That sounds sort of like Bahl'al... I guess.
