: Why wouldn't it take ten years to conquer the Province?

My theory, such as it is: After the passes fell, the Province was overwhelmed, caught off guard and suffering accordingly. If I recall the numbers right, Convenant fell twelve years ago (as of the 17th year of the war), the Giants haven't been seen for thirteen (as of the Forest Heart journal entry). Can't have taken that long for Tyr to fall, assuming the Fallen took the southern parts of the Province (Scales and such) before marching on Covenant.
