: "I am not a coward. I think that my actions over the
: last seventeen years prove this. Yet I was relieved to
: not be among those chosen to die." I'm almost
: positive that he cannot have served through the first
: twenty years if he only refers to seventeen years that
: prove that he's not a coward. Of course, it may just
: mean that only in the last seventeen years has he
: actually proven himself to stand out as exceptional,
: as opposed to another Warrior.
: Regarding the fall of Muirthemne, we only have one minor
: problem matching this up. According to the manual
: writer: "...the Fallen torched Muirthemne just a
: few years ago." In the glossary, it refers to
: Muirthemne falling fifty years ago. Admitedly, a
: not-so-minor error I just noticed (off topic, but
: while I'm commenting). "...the Fallen...turned
: the Empire east of the Cloudspine into desert (now
: called the Devoid)". "The Devoid"?!
: Huh?
: Also, just out of personal interest, any thoughts on why
: he would refer to it as "the war in the
: North" instead of the "the war in the
: West"? Its not really vital to proving anything,
: but I'd like to know if anyone has an impression on
: why he would say it that way.
: As far as we can tell, which means nothing, the Journal
: Writer did not survive the struggle at the Great
: Devoid. If I had to take a guess (I'm assuming a
: fitting outcome, not a probable one): Seeing that the
: dwarf who carried Balor's head would not make it
: before Soulblighter slew him, he selflessly sacririced
: himself to hinder Soulblighter's advance.
: To be perfectly honest, the intro "In a time long
: past..." is possibly One Heron Stone (you try
: spontaneously coming up with a Heron Guard name), the
: Myth 2 Journal Writer.
: Of course, that's not even remotely supported (not
: neccessarily contradicted either, but I don't have
: even solidly logical guesswork to justify that) by the
: facts, but it makes some sense.
: Seraph
: P.S. Some good thoughts are coming out of this much gone
: over topic. My thanks to those who have shared theirs,
: as it keeps life a little more interesting.
The North is the referred area that includes Madrigal, Tandem etc.
Presumably the dark sacked the South first then attacked the North, rather than take on both parts at once. We also have to remember that the Forest Giants helped keep the Dark from crossing through Seven Gates for three years yet not returning on the fourth. Thirteen years before the Forest Heart level.
Plus since he specifies the War in the North, rather than in the Province I'm guessing that date doesn't work either.
Is there any dates that work in that game!!
