I've tried to introduce everyone I know to play Myth, but the most I've gotten are one or two multiplayer games that everyone enjoyed, but no one actually wanted to play online because they tended to get utterly dominiated.
I once ran a summer GURPs game running the Myth rules (It's much easier to just make things up when it seems that the knowledge of the backstory courses through your veins)
However, among my gamer buddies I've just been denoted as the crazy guy who's like 'we should play myth' and 'that guy who liked bungie BEFORE halo'... After I lose (as I usually do) in counterstrike or Halo, (the games that my friends mostly play) there are usually cries of "Ha! Go back to your Myth! It's the only game he's good at anyway)
