In Response To: Re: HOW MANY LEGIONS (Xelius)

Well, given that there was (in theory) more than just one legion by Myth II, I think it's a fair question to wonder how many there were during the Great War. It's entirely possible that the narrator simply calls his force "the Legion" and not by any specific name or number because it's his legion, whereas he names other forces, which might indeed be "legions" in their own right, by the names of their respective Avatara commanders. In any case, the Great War's "Legion" obviously became renown for its "unflinching heroism," to quote the Epilogue, and thusly won the bright fame of the ages. Still, I don't think there is any evidence to contradict the presence of multiple "legions" of various sizes or even initially of the same size during the Great War. To assume otherwise would be to err by the fallacy of ignorance.
