hehe. These messages are all '(nt)'
: I would have gotten it if it weren't for all the
: versioning stuff.
I know, and that's ok. But I think it would be great if everyone could have the map, for once (I'm not saying it's your fault or anything)
: Better stay away from Legendary though. I've been trying
: to do the Warrior (2nd level) on Legendary. I got all
: the way to the end without losing anything, then was
: swarmed and killed by what must have been 100 wasps.
: IT CHETZ!
I don't think we've ever done legendary on AN, yet we still lose frequently, so We'd definitely stay away from legendary. :)
: We wouldn't all have to have those, would we? Wouldn't
: just one person do? How much experience does William
: have at this, because it isn't easy to design a
: system. Also, how long will this take? GURPS is
: hitting within the month. We might be able to start on
: GURPS, then come up with a way of transfering our
: characters if he comes up with something better.
We don't all need them, but if anyone had them, that person would still be spending way too much money on this. Each of those books are about $20. The GM would be the one to have all of them, if anyone, but he'd also have to learn the entire system.
William, I think, is basing his system off of another system, as most people (including myself) who create new RPGs at home do. That means he won't be making up the entire thing from scratch. It's actually not so hard to make up an RPG system that's just modified from another one. I've done it many times. It's easier than making a myth TC :)
It is possible for us to convert from GURPS, but I think it will take longer for us to actually organize and get ready for the eRPG than it should for Will to turn out the system. I'm not sure about this, but if it takes too long, we could always come up with character concepts, background stories, and character resources. I'll have to tell all those who don't know about them what those are sometime, but they do take quite some time to make (if made well). If we're really desperate for WW's game to get finished, we could always start the game free-form. That means we'd come up with the character things (the ones I said previously), and play the characters without any game system, having the characters act within their own limits, and the GM deciding what happens.
: I don't have any GMing experience, so it probably
: shouldn't be me. Forrest is busy enough already, as
: are many others. Who can do it?
I have GMing experience, and I think WW has at least some. I would gladly do it, but there is one problem. I am already running one eRPG. It is almost defunct, though, so it's a possibility that I could GM if I needed to. I would take me quite some time to come up with a campaign and stuff, though. But don't count on that. Right now I think we should see who could do it.
