Whaddya know, it's 3 AM again! Your comments make a lot of sense, except for the unforgivable flaw that they fail to unreservedly endorse my opinions. Remember, no shiny new BMW for people who think for themselves :)
: I dont know my Roman history, but I think someone shot

: give a word?
Although I'm a [insert choked sob of shame] math/physics major, I think I'm enough of an amateur classicist to answer. The Trow are very definitely connected to the original Roman empire; their names are Latin, their architecture is Roman, and they've got Livy's whole Implacable Iron Man Who Loves Only the State thing down cold. The comment about the difference between the Roman and the Holy Roman Empire was in response to Forrest's General Theory of Bungie Game connections, in which he suggested a connection between one of Marathon's historical terminals, whose events were contemporary with the Holy Roman Empire, and the Romanesque empire of the Trow in Myth. The difference between the Roman and Holy Roman empires was evidence that this particular Marathon terminal was not connected with the Trow, but it doesn't argue against the Trow being Roman.
Short answer:
The Trow are connected to the Roman Empire.
But the Roman and the Holy Roman Empire are different.
So the Trow aren't connected to the Holy Roman Empire.
But they're still connected to the Roman Empire, and no
one's comments ever changed that.
If you're still confused--and after reading this "explanation," who wouldn't be--ask Forrest, since it's his article. Anyway, it doesn't affect my Trow-Myrmidon theory, which was already dead since Forrest points out the Myrmidons were created only a few hundred years before TFL, far too early for my theory. So we'll all just pretend I never suggested it, hmmm? Thanks again for your comments.
