: (1) Can Bungie buy back the rights and do it, with
: working on Halo 3?
It is certainly possible, with Microsoft's muscle behind them, to bring up the cash needed to buy it.
: (2) Would Bungie profit off of it?
That's the big question. A related question is: can Bungie manage to make a strategy game that works well on the Xbox controller? Because we can be pretty sure that Bungie is not a computer games company any more, they're an Xbox games only company. Microsoft owns them and wants more people buying Xboxes and Xbox-licensed titles, and there's no reason other than "Bungie people want to be nice to computer players" that I can see another computer-based game out of Bungie.
And then, related to that of course is: if Bungie made Myth 4 for Xbox, and it didn't suck and actually worked, would you want to buy it, and an Xbox if neccessary?
: (3) Has computer programming reached the level where it
: can really improve on Myth not just graphically but
: physically and conceptually (I have this image of
: Myrkridia leaping over wooden fences and leaping on a
: warrior, tackling him and tearing his face out-and
: that kind of stuff would be, to put it eloquently,
: very awesome)?
This is easily a yes. They could probably just modify the Halo engine a tad and viola.
