Btw the original mahir that never made it into TFL looked more like the below image.
I had a pet theory about mahir origins once, that came out of wondering what happened to the few remaining Myrmidons after TFL.
Ok, their source of longevity (such as it is) has died, and their flesh was all falling off anyway. Skulking around deep in forests & caves to avoid being killed, their bodies continued to decay until there was nothing left except their spirits - and their malevolent hatred of the living.
You can see where I'm going. Some of the mahir names mb reflect the regret the Myrmidons may have had for their treacherous bargain with Balor & his probable unwillingness to listen when their proud appearance started to fade...
