To become a Leveler the hero must first die, so the Leveler enity can control the body. I read that somewhere on this site I think.

Connacht was first general, and so in more of a possition to use the knowledge, Myrdred was only an Avatara and not even the boss of the Avatara. Plus Connacht may have raditated power.
