Which was exactly Andrew's point, thinking TFV, UMS, CotD, etc, are "canon" would be a mistaken use of the word, so to suggest that they should be considered as such demonstrates a misunderstanding of the word. I only included such a category on my "canon scales", under the category of "noncanon", because so many people misunderstand and think that it is canon. Same thing as the legal cannon (cat3a) - just because a publisher / franchise ownser says it's true so doesn't make it part of the original authors' imagined universe, which is the only place such a universe really exists. Any publications about it are merely insights into the imagined universe, if they are canon (written or approved by the original authors), or new imaginings INSPIRED BY but not actually a part of the original imagined universe, if not.
