: It definitely is more in keeping with the general
: atmosphere of Myth. From the Bungie games, I got the
: impression that the battles of Myth 3 would have been
: much more desperate and horrible, with broken bodies
: and severed heads spitted upon pikes as armies of
: hatred and darkness shatter any last sense of hope
: that may have flitted into the world. Well, thats what
: TFL felt like anyway.
Yeah, but it should not be so hopeless -everything- is lost. Down to the last desperate roll of the dice is one thing. Down to a (for those who can get the D&D reference) natural 20 to succeed is almost as bad, if not worse, than the way Myth III did do things.
Myth is about valiant but relatively mundane individuals overcoming great odds.
Not superheroes...and HGK's story would produce too much of Connacht=Superhero feel for my taste, if I read it right. But, that's one person's opinion.
