It's actually an interesting debate, but often the arguments turn violent and somebody ends up getting shot. I think that many Myth fans do not consider Myth 3 to be canon. Some people, such as myself, consider the story to be so off kilter in regards to the backstory presented in official sources that the title "Myth" is misleading. Others have made respectable efforts to reconcile the conflicting stories. This really becomes an issue when somebody posts a theory in the Asylum which assumes that Myth 3 is not apocryphal, at which point the first line of defense for those opposed to the theory is the belief that Myth 3 is not canonical, and at the end of the day someone pulls out a switchblade. I think that, for safety reasons, everyone should assume Myth 3 doesn't really count for story information. Though I should mention that I hate Myth 3's story, and can't remain unbiased in all of this.
