Exactly. I once thought that I had FINALLY discovered who the Head was- the 6th Fallen Lord. But, of course, the Nine would probably know the head WAS the 6th evil sorceror, or at least one of the soldiers or Heron Guards/JMan would suspect something. I won't even bring up my "other" thought... (okay, okay- I thought that perhaps the Head had a Helmet he lost... so the helmet would make his visage appear different... Lame, I know).

FAR-FETCHED THEORY-
Maybe the head is indeed Balor gone back in time! Maybe the Great Devoid is really a time machine! THe magics laying dormant for so many thousands of years by the mysterious Callieach morphed into time machines.
