It depends on what time in the empire you're talking about...

Basically, if it was based on a Roman Legion, Berserkers, Archers, Drwafs and co would be in units about 200 strong, 5 accompanying the main group of 1000 "Legionaires"

But thats from one time period. Later the Legions were huge horse based armies. The organisation of the Roman Army changed several times. The time period I'm refering to is about 0 BC...roughly.

Of course, I should also point out that my teachings are somewhat corrupt because my memory has a number of problems...so I could be wrong. Ehehe.

It seems to me, however, there might have been more than one during the War with the Fallen Lords. After all, there are several armies...although it does seem they are collectively known as the Legion.

However...I believe it mentions near the end that the other 2000 men of the Legion were sacraficed, so the small group you control could grab Balor's head and run. And the writer calls that The Legion, but also mentions that there is a civil war with the forces remaining in the rest. Meaning either those are very minimal forces, or there is more than one Legion running around.
