Knowing someone's true name makes them weak. The Watcher must have known his own true name, so why wasn't he consistantly weak? Same thing with bone; when it's a part of your body, it's a part of you - but when it's turned into long, sharp points that come hurtling through the air and impale your chest in a dozen different places, they can have somewhat adverse effects.
