Good day folks...I'm pretty new to all this, so take what I have to say with a pinch of salt.
I always kinda felt The Faceless Man might be another name for Soulblighter...after all, I'm sure I read somewhere he ripped off his own face and tore out his heart in a rite to fuel his powers. Or am I going insane?
As for the Nine...well, the rest could have been off doing things our friend the Journal Writer knew nothing about. We don't get to read the whole thing after all...just the parts that concern the game. It can be assumed he mentioned the other Nine and there misson else where.
And of course, just because it started off as The Nine doesn't mean there are still Nine of them. Alric, Maeldum, Cu Roi and Murgen might be the only surviving members. There is more than one entity which still carries it's origonal name without the cause for that name applying anymore.
And I'm pretty sure the Nine are the only ones who would face a Fallen Lord in a dream duel...which must have happened before, because the Journal Writer mentions that no one has ever challenged the Fallen Lords and won before.
However, I'm more inclined to think the Journal Writer simply didn't know what they were doing...no news of there fate means no mention in his Journal.
