The big problem I see with this is that The Watcher died in a way completely dissimilar to how Cartuke is said to have "died"; there weren't any fir'Bolg (ne'Ric) or Jmen (Four Bear) or Mages (Kyrand) present when the Watcher was shattered (Fenris could have been a Berserk, though), and though there were fir'Bolg present when he was stoned, they were using Watcher-bone arrows and not a magic storm-strike to kill him. I don't think the answer is in Chimera, if it's in the Codex at all. I'm gonna mail Doug & Rob (who actually worked on the story, unlike Juan) to confirm or deny this.
