Yeah, i forgot this. Good post Garba. Yes sure they couldn't beat deceiver with 2 survivors(one zerk and one warr without hand), still in myth 2 bungie wrote:
"Twelve Motion Jeweled Skull says he was last here sixty years ago, fighting alongside the likes of Durak and Turgeis with Burning Steel. They caught The Deceiver and the remnants of his army in this very defile and here destroyed them."
So there are more survivors from the legion, so it means Light won and Cycle is really broken, no matter how many cities conquered or solodiers killed Balor's armies.
The war is like a chess game. Who kills King win, so Alric(white or light king) "killed" Balor(black or dark King). In chess game doesn't matter how many chess figures you kill, single it matters to kill the king. Right? So myth war was the same thing.
