: I know it as well as Lord of the Rings itself!
Ach, vielen dank. I must've mentioned this before on this site, but, what with parents, I am allowed but little time on the internet, and thus rarely am able to search for these things.
: Toll, Freund!
As you can see, my knowledge of various endings, prepositions, and genders of nouns needs some brushing up on...
: Ah, ni3 hao3?
Hěn hǎo, kěshμ wǒ zhēn θ.
: An excellent choice; I intend to return to it after
: Hebrew.
I'm an anime-otaku, so it made sense. I've got a good bit of the grammar down pretty well, at least as far as recognition goes, but I definitely need to beef up my vocabulary.
: Good god, you too!? How incredible! Best of luck to you
: with it!
It's actually going to be my third language that I've "created"... the first one, which I made in sixth grade or so, consisted of one word, so that wasn't very hard. The second one fell through by the end of ninth grade, but that makes sense because I was trying to make a full character based language, on my first real try, and so... this one seems much more promising, despite the fact that I only started making it on a whim. It's very peculiar, not really "based" on any other languages, and it so far seems to be neither particularly western nor eastern in construction. It puts a lot of emphasis on units of time, especially days...
: A beautiful language.
Yes, but a rare one in my parts, so, unless I find tapes, I'll likely end up butchering the pronunciations... ::sigh::
: Wow, now there's one I've never thought about. Tell me
: what it's like! I'm betting it's somewhere between
: German and Old English.
I've glanced at some text now and then, and it seemed a lot more scandinavian than even some scandinavian text I've glanced at, which seemed really odd to me.
: You need to search harder! I particularly recommend the
: Quenya course at Ardalambion.
I thank you again for the recommendation, it may well come in very handy.
: It made it easier to read, actually.
Yes...; of course, having read Melville throughout my tenth grade life, easy-to-read sentences are no longer my specialty... ;)
: Amabo te, dica mihi Latina sapes.
I'm assuming this is Latin, or some romantic language at least, and I really ought to study them soon, but I just never seem to get around to it...
This was helpful! Thx
