: I think it's be Tá mé ag foghlaim Gaelige le ceithre lae.
: And leamh is related to leabhar, it means to read. One
: thing in Irish that is in contrast to English and
: German is that the adjective and noun are the other
: way round, mar shampla, Shean Bearla nó Óiche mhaith.

Ah, indeed. So very cool... It's such fun exploring my Irish half for a change.

: Unfortunately my Irish isn't as good as I'd like, and
: since I have been learning Irish since primary, I was
: never taught the rudiments of grammar and syntax, so
: it just comes naturally, and unfortunately often
: wrong, but it's nice to hear someone outside the Éire
: learning Irish.

You bet! and I delight that the Irish have preserved and elevated their native tongue to the high status it deserves.

: Tá súil agam nach stopaidh tú ag foghlaim faoi Gaelige
: agus stair na hEireann.

Ach, what a hard language... So many idioms... I love them all, but they're so hard to keep track of. How would you translate Tá súil agam? "I have an eye" for something?

The worst part is that there aren't any Bearla-Gaeilge dictionaries online that are any good, much less idiom translators. But I suppose those shall come in time as Gaelic becomes more literary and renown.
