: Actually, the Trow make no reference to Wyrd in the
: comic. Can't prove it one way or the other, but I
: suspect they think the elder races are not connected
: with Wyrd. The elder races, they note, all came from
: *outside*; out of the ground, or the ocean, or the
: sky. Whereas the younger races just
: "appeared" in situ.

The Dwarves came out of the ground. Are you saying they're not children of Wyrd? And the ocean and sky are similarly of this world. The Myrkrydia and Fetch were not children of Wyrd, being drawn from other dimensions, as was Syrkrosh and her giant spiders (although it's possible that there were already giant spiders native to the world) but I think the implication is that Wyrd created everything unless stated otherwise- even the Ghols seem to have been led astray by "the Whisperers in Darkness" rather than worshipping their own creators.

Also, the first recorded
: complaint about Trow religion (discounting Myth III)
: was made by the Oghre; we don't know why the elder
: races fought the Trow, but we're not told that it was
: religiously motivated. Which again suggests that they
: weren't working for Wyrd.

You're assuming that the initiative was the Elder Races'. From the Trow point of view, simply the facts that they existed and that they were powerful made them a threat to Trow dominion and forming the world in Nyx's image. All of which made it necessary for the Trow to march out and KIK them into the ground. Some, like the Oghres, actively provoked the Trow, but generally speaking, the Trow considered their Empire to stretch across the world. To claim that the holdings of your race were not a part of the Trow Empire would have been an act of rebellion against Nyx's order, and more than sufficient justification (in the Trow view, at least) for you to be crushed.
