Sure. See the rest of my post. :-) I just mentioned TBC's Taking process as shorthand for what I think was more likely to have happened.
Incidentally, there's not really any evidence that the Watcher was every anything but a nasty mage...can't really argue for or against him being a former "bre'Unor war hero" because the official stuff just doesn't mention it. It'd be hard to fit a skull-mask under that helmet, though. :-)
