: In my revision, he's not a Heron. He's another sort of
: Imperial Guard, complementary to the Herons - while
: the Herons stay around and guard the Emperor, his type
: of Guard goes out trekking in the far realms of the
: empire on elite special missions. It's like the
: National Guard versus the Marine or SEALs, or some
: such.
But Emperor send Herons too, don't forget he send Damas and contingent of herons to find Connacht. So Emperor used heros as special force(navy seals, delta force, green berets, etc..).
So he's normal heron captain without uniform.
