I still think the Mazzarin's Crypt thing is just too stupid. If he died and got turned into a Shade, then he should be EVIL and under control of the Watcher.

Oh, of course not a direct quote, I didn't mean that either. Just the idea of filling the Tain up, on there being a limit to it, seems contrary too it's very function. It's an endless maze of caverns that you can beam entire races into. Having it get "full" goes completely against that.

It's not that he shouldn't be evil back then - being one of the ancient three doesn't mean you were evil, Damas certainly wasn't. It just means you were around back then. But if Myrdred was around so long ago, he'd clearly be one of the ancient ones.

I actually had a really scary creature called an Ashwraith designed, something like a Mahir made of smoke instead of shadow, that burned the ground it moved upon and took a humanoid cloud-form to throw terrain-igniting fireballs.
If you took out it's ranged attack and made it slower it might actually make a decent Wight replacement... a cloud of ash slowly drifts toward you, encircles your feet and then the ground you're standing on bursts into flames.
