Maybe something happened to her to force her into spell-casting? The transition to Fallen Lord status may have withered her. Perhaps Balor simply deceived her into believing she was still beautiful, as he had robbed her of her physique.
Or maybe, and this is a big maybe, maybe her withered appearance has something to do with the hatred or at least general dislike of SB.
Maybe in his absence something happened to her and Finn. He may have perished, and she may have been hideously wounded. I think that would be reason enough to hate someone- she'd probably blame him (Damas) for not being there.
Just venturing out on a limb, it would make good storyline though.
