: By GURPS' account (and I tend to agree), she was
: significantly more powerful before the resurrection.
: Her Whisper Dream (which was sorta kinda implemented
: in M2, but it's supposed to have a powerful mental
: component) almost wiped out Rabican in one shot...it
: was only the vanity trick that let him prevail. Before
: that she was pretty much unbeatable.
Ah ok, that would make sense. She doesn't look much like her old war-faring self in the Traitor's Game post game (more withered and old). So I'd either contend she was a damn powerful sorceress (why else would she be a Fallen Lord, she doesn't seem to have Damas' love anymore) or the realisation of her ugliness drained her. The latter seems less likely, as I'd assume she was always of that appearance- and just clung to her mortal/Myrmidon appearance.
: M2 Shiver, you can take a fair amount of her health down
: without even using Myrdred...you only lose that way
: because she's so speedy. She may be physically as
: strong or stronger than before, but she's lost her
: mental equilibrium (probably permanent rage at her
: consciousness of ugliness now) and I think that
: impacts the effectiveness of her spells.
True, she does seem very aggresive and nuts. The noises she makes when hurling spells are more bestial than human, so I'd assume she's lost of lot of sanity as a result of her realisation and her resurrection.
: We've argued over it in the past. I don't think you can
: tell whether in-game Myrmidons are male or female; and
: if a Myrmidon gal was fighting alongside the menfolk,
: I don't see why she wouldn't be honored with a similar
: name.
Yeah, true.
: I don't know where that title came from. Could be GURPS
: just made it up after looking at the titles for folks
: like SB. Could also be that Bungie came up with the
: title long ago and then borrowed the "Twice
: Born" part for SB, just as they (probably)
: borrowed the Faceless Man visual concept for him.
Yeah, pre-game stuff has a habit of melting together over time. Even when working on my novel I'm constantly finding characters merge in the creative process.
